Regenerate Outcomes: The first UK-origin soil carbon project to achieve Verra validation

In today’s Voluntary Carbon Market, buyers are rightly focused on quality. Demand has firmly shifted towards high-integrity carbon credits, with a clear climate impact, backed by robust measurement, reporting and verification.

At Regenerate Outcomes, this dovetails with our goal to provide transparent, traceable soil carbon credits, which deliver extensive co-benefits for farming businesses, biodiversity, water quality, human nutrition and society as a whole.

As a Verra-validated programme, Regenerate Outcomes meets the rigorous demands of the Verified Carbon Standard, specifically the VM0042 methodology for Improved Agricultural Land Management.

Regenerate Outcomes mentoring for soil carbon credits

Regenerate Outcomes provide transparent, traceable soil carbon credits, which deliver extensive co-benefits for farming businesses.

This ensures we are achieving our own aims for farmers and the environment, as well as meeting the needs of buyers to move towards net zero and achieve their climate goals.

We work with nearly 200 regenerative farmers across England, Scotland and Wales. Our expert mentoring team support them to improve soil health by increasing organic matter. This also sequesters carbon dioxide from the atmosphere which is stored in the soil.

There are 170,000 soil carbon removal units and 50,000 emissions reductions credits available from Regenerate Outcomes.

Demonstrable climate impact

The VM00042 methodology is widely recognised for its rigorous scientific baseline and approved by the Integrity Council for the Voluntary Carbon Market (ICVCM). Buyers can have confidence that each credit represents one tonne of carbon dioxide equivalent removed from the atmosphere and a genuine reduction in greenhouse gas emissions.

High integrity

Soil carbon credits from Regenerate Outcomes meet the VCS standards for additionality, permanence and independent verification. These standards incorporate measures to guard against reversals, such as putting aside a permanence reserve of credits which can be accessed if the original removals are undone.

They also have clear rules around additionality, to ensure the credits are being generated through practices which would not have taken place without the support of Regenerate Outcomes and the carbon credit revenue.

Farmers enter a 40-year agreement with Regenerate Outcomes, to ensure long-term impact, and receive one-to-one mentoring to support genuine regenerative practice change.

Robust process

Carbon removals are verified through direct soil sampling every five years. Regenerate Outcomes works with Agricarbon, Europe’s leading soil carbon surveyor, to conduct rigorous baselining and measurement. Laboratory evidence of soil carbon sequestration is combined with detailed project data and monitoring to guarantee transparency and traceability.

Extensive co-benefits

Healthier soil enables farmers to reduce petrochemical inputs, cut costs, and build more profitable and resilient businesses. Soil health is also directly connected to increased biodiversity, improved water quality and greater nutritional density in food.

Carbon credits you can be proud of

The high integrity and clear impact of Regenerate Outcomes’ soil carbon credits ensures they deliver return on investment, stand up to scrutiny and safeguard the reputation of buyers. They are a secure way to demonstrate climate leadership to customers, investors and stakeholders.

“Organisations are rightly placing greater emphasis on their transparent and accurate accounting of greenhouse gas emissions,” says Regenerate Outcomes Managing Director Tom Dillon.

“The Verra methodology ensures that the same rigour of scientific accounting underpins each carbon credit – enabling a like-for-like offset. We are proud to be creating an exchange whereby companies are directly supporting British farmers to regenerate ecosystems from the soil up.”

High integrity soil carbon credits that benefit rural communities, nature and the climate

Regenerate Outcomes is the first British-origin soil carbon programme to be Verra registered, expanding high-integrity carbon credit supply for corporate buyers.

We work with British farmers to implement regenerative land management practices designed to improve soil health, increase carbon stocks and strengthen long-term agricultural resilience.
